Fit notes

You do not need a fit note if you cannot work for 7 days or less.

You might need a fit note if you’re unwell and cannot work for more than 7 days. This includes weekends and bank holidays.

A fit note can support you to return to work or stay in work. You can also use your fit note to help you claim benefits or statutory sick pay (SSP).

Test results

Test results take at least 7 days to be returned from the laboratory.

You can view your results on the NHS App. You can also send an Anima request.

If you would prefer to call the practice, please do so after 10am. The receptionist will be able to tell you if any action is required. They will not be able to discuss the results with you. If you need to discuss your test results, please make an appointment with your doctor.

We will often ask people to arrange a phone appointment if we feel the result needs explaining. Asking you to call does not mean there is anything wrong. The doctor may also write to you about the results.

We will contact you as soon as we get your results if there is any urgent action required.
